Macedon Cricket Club won the Jensen Shield grand final last season, and this season the Cats have proved worthy of their promotion by finishing on top of the Johnstone Shield ladder. Saturday’s win over a competitive Kyneton guaranteed Macedon plays Bacchus Marsh in a qualifying final at Tony Clarke Reserve this Saturday. Kyneton compiled 5/162 c.c. (Kyle Cordy 60, Tom Boyer 37) and Macedon ended up with a well-measured 3/165 (opener Chris Ingleton 59 not out, captain-coach Daniel Trotta a quick unbeaten 38 not out, and Tim Berzins 36.
