A striking community mural has been installed at Little Swallow Café.
Unveiled last week, the work was part of the Kyneton Community House’s Learn Local Community Art Program with students from Windarring.
The project came about when Daniel Richards from Little Swallow put out the call for local artists to create a mural in the café courtyard.
KCH director Claire Rawlinson saw an opportunity to collaborate and create an artwork for all to enjoy.
Led by KCH art teacher, Deita Walters, the mural was created by Janine, Billie, Robbie, Tash, Emma, Kate and Geoff using stencil techniques with a layered approach, adding depth and colour to a once blank space.
The result is a diving swallow that adds to Little Swallow’s welcoming courtyard.
“Working with Little Swallow, such a community minded business, was a delight. Everyone should go down and check this out and enjoy the great food and atmosphere,” Ms Rawlinson said.
KCH runs Community Art Programs regularly, for anyone in the community interested in participating.
