Kyneton Showgrounds is the venue for the Riddell League Rookie Me women’s football preliminary final tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, August 10).
Last season, Kyneton Tigers went through the season undefeated to gain a historic premiership victory, but tomorrow’s match is the last chance for either Kyneton or Woodend-Hesket to earn a place in the 2024 grand final against the formidable Macedon Cats.
Last weekend Macedon advanced straight to the grand final with a clear-cut victory over Kyneton, and the Tigers are determined to earn another shot at a premiership.
The preliminary final begins at 3pm at the Showgrounds, with the home club urging supporters to go along and cheer on their players.
The joy of winning the 2023 women’s flag is still fresh in the mind of many of the Tigers who will line up tomorrow.
The outside bar and barbecue will be operating.
Woodend-Hesket beat Melton in a close elimination final last weekend, and the Hawks have certainly improved on their 2023 form.
Favourable weather conditions are predicted for tomorrow’s preliminary final.
