Mandolin Memories

The Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra is headed to Campbells Creek.

Since it first formed in 1967 the Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra has performed hundreds of concerts in Melbourne, in regional Victoria including many concerts in Bendigo and Castlemaine as well as performances at several Castlemaine State Festivals, and interstate. It has also toured overseas on several occasions performing concerts in Japan and Europe and has recorded a number of CDs.

After a very well-attended concert in Castlemaine last November, the orchestra, comprising mostly traditional Neopolitan (bowl back) mandolins, mandolas, classical guitars, mandocellos and double bass, is coming back to perform in Castlemaine, once again in the Campbells Creek Community Centre (60 Elizabeth Street, Campbells Creek) at 2.30pm on Sunday November 24.

Mandolin Memories will feature a mix of classical, contemporary and folk-inspired works, which have proven very popular with audiences over the years.

Tickets ($30 or $25 concession for pensioners and Health Care card holders, youth under 18 years admitted free) will be available at the door or online via Trybooking at www.trybooking.com/CWKSV

Light refreshments will be provided after the concert. CDs will also be available for sale.
