The Upper Campaspe Landcare Network is making a public call for new committee members to join its work supporting environment groups across the region.
Established to resource and assist landcare and environmental friends groups, the UCLN has 14 active member groups with members from all sections of the community.
UCLN president John Walter said the hundreds of people in the UCLN member groups made an enormous contribution to improving the natural environment across the region.
“Supported by our landcare facilitator, we are a key source of assistance, information and resources to work with local groups, help them thrive and promote regional collaboration,” he said.
“A recent change to our rules enables us to fill vacant positions by appointment from the wider community and we are looking for new committee members from a wide range of backgrounds.
“An interest in the natural environment is a given for our committee, but previous skills and experience in committees or board memberships are also important for the UCLN’s success.”
Established as an incorporated body, the UCLN also became a registered charity in late 2024. It has a record of long and successful relationships with governments and across the environment sector.
“It’s always exciting pleasing to work with our group members and to see what they do,” John said.
“They really make our communities and our region a better place and the UCLN has an important role to support them.”
John invited anyone with an interest to contact him directly on 0410 598 252 or to look at the UCLN’s website www.uppercampaspelandcare.org.au for further information.
