Kyneton trainer Nelson Smyth has four-year-old gelding Thunderbolt Way racing in fine form.
On Friday, Thunderbolt Way made it successive wins by leading all the way in the D-Day Pest Control BM62 Handicap at Geelong.
The galloper appreciates heavy tracks, and Jye McNeil had no hesitation in taking the $6 chance to the front, allowing him to bowl along well out from the rails.
Thunderbolt Way never looked like being run down, and had three lengths to spare from Power Pivot at the end of the 2435 metres.
His previous win was in a close finish at Geelong on July 31.
Thunderbolt Way has now taken his stake earnings to over the $87,000 mark from 11 starts.
Previously having been involved with horses interstate and overseas for a considerable period, Smyth set up his Ellison Lodge Racing stables near the Kyneton racecourse several months ago and is looking to build on his early successes by acquiring additional thoroughbreds.
