A cinematic documentary about the unique and quirky characters that live and work in Lancefield is set to be launched at a local screening tonight at 6.30pm.
Co-produced by Mike Jones, Harry Jon Nanos and Paul Carter, and co-funded by the Lancefield Community Bank and members of the Lancefield community, Lancefield Dreaming interviews a number of iconic, charismatic locals who have watched the township change over the years and yet remain true to their country roots and values.
It also addresses the views and challenges of a number of people who have migrated to the town in search of a tree change.
Among all of this is a series of narratives that foster interesting relationships between locals, newcomers and the younger generation. Lancefield Dreaming embraces the significance of the town’s history through the eyes of locals and celebrates what the future offers to newcomers. Running time 45 minutes.
Supper will be provided. Drinks will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going to a local Lancefield club.
Friday and Saturday, August 23 and 24, 6.30-8.30pm at the Lancefield Mechanics Institute.
