If you’re a MAINfm listener, it’s your time to shine as the best little station in the nation is seeking support!
Here comes the sun and here comes Castlemaine’s annual MAINfm radiothon, running June 20-27 and kicking off Winter Solstice, when the days get longer and the music gets stronger.
In the weeklong radiothon, listeners are encouraged to tune in and subscribe, putting the community into radio and showing support for the long-running regional station. A bounty of daily prizes will be up for grabs during radiothon and everyone who subscribes during June and July will go in the major prize draw.
The MAINfm event starts on Saturday June 20 with popular program Star Spangled Bangers broadcasting live from the MAINfm studios. Joining the program will be Castlemaine’s renowned PubSing group, with a special virtual choir performance of radiothon theme Here Comes the Sun.
The radio party comes to an end on Saturday June 27 with a virtual live music event from Castlemaine’s very own Theatre Royal featuring local bands, presenters and DJs.
MAINfm is a not-for-profit radio station local to Castlemaine and the Mount Alexander community and accessible from anywhere in the world through its livestream.
As a volunteer organisation, all income raised during the radiothon will be used for development to sustain the station.
