Double the Christmas joy

Kyneton Community House is again hosting two inclusive community Christmas lunches on Tuesday December 20 and Wednesday December 21.

Things will look a bit different this year with both lunches taking place in KCH’s new Good Food Hub at 35 High Street in Kyneton.

The venue already hosts Small Bites, a program to help upskill young people and others looking at a career change in front and back of house hospitality skills, and weekly community lunches.

“It seems obvious to take these two offerings in the last week of service at the hub and turn them into community Christmas sit-down free lunches,” said Claire Rawlinson, KCH director.

“People really crave togetherness at this time of year and this is our small way of making this happen for folk that might really need it.”

The lunches will bring together 80-90 people over the two days, and are made possible with the help of generous donations, hard work and a band of dedicated volunteers. Macedon Ranges Shire Council has also offered to partially fund the event to make it happen.

These community Christmas lunches have now been running for three years, and Kyneton Community House hopes to keep the tradition going for many years to come.

To book a seat at the lunch, visit the Kyneton Community House’s website or call the main office on 03 5422 3433.

The team would also love to hear from any community members interested in volunteering with them on one of the two days, or in the future in the community lunch program or as a Small Bites participant.
