Meet new friends, wash dishes, reduce landfill – a winning combination.
Mount Alexander Sustainability Group and the Taradale Mineral Springs Festival will use the Wash Against Waste Trailer to achieve this.
The use of this trailer at the festival stops large quantities of takeaway food containers, drink cups and cutlery going to landfill so fewer rubbish bins are needed. The trailer is part of MASG’s waste reduction program.
Volunteers are needed to do shifts at the trailer during the festival. Helpers are required from 8am to 5pm.
The trailer manager will always be onsite and guide the volunteers in the use of the trailer and the necessary roles, for example; early set up, providing vendors with the supplies they need, lunchtime, collecting dirty dishes (some lifting involved), washing dishes, then finally the pack up. Being with a group makes it enjoyable!
If you’d be able to help out on the Wash Against Waste trailer at the Taradale Festival, get in touch with Chris on 5470 5508, or leave a clear message with your name and phone number.
You get to attend the festival on Sunday March 12, 10am to 4pm, meet new people and help the environment too.
It is a lovely day under big old oak trees with music, food, wine, vintage cars and more.
