Rotary needs you

Kyneton Rotary is looking for new members who can carry on the tradition of service to the community.

You’ve likely noticed the dedicated members of the Rotary Club of Kyneton enhancing their community with vibrant displays of Daffodil Festival flags, Christmas flags, and active involvement in various local events. From the bustling community market to Australia Day celebrations, and collaborative efforts with organisations like the CFA and Scouts, the Rotary Club has been a steadfast supporter of Kyneton.

Beyond the local borders, you might have come across social media updates detailing the Rotary Club’s impactful endeavours in Cambodia, Vietnam, Kenya, Nepal and East Timor. Perhaps you’ve encountered inspiring stories of Rotarians contributing their time and skills to make a difference in these global communities.

The Rotary Club of Kyneton is not just a local fixture; it’s a hub for youth and community initiatives. Over the years, the club has played a vital role in nurturing young talents through programs like Rotary exchange student initiatives, National Youth Science Forum participation, Rotary Youth Leadership awards, and the Rotary Program of Enrichment. Whether your children have delighted in the Rotary train at the Jean Haynes playground or you’ve strolled along the River Walk path laid by Rotary, their positive impact is woven into the fabric of Kyneton.

Since its establishment in 1967, Kyneton Rotary has been an active force, especially in engaging with young people, students, community activities and organisations. Unfortunately, the club is facing a challenge – a shortage of active members.

Without more hands on deck, the club’s ability to continue its community projects may be at risk in the near future.

This is where you come in. If you’re seeking an opportunity to volunteer in a dynamic and socially engaging community club surrounded by like-minded individuals, or if you represent an organisation interested in sponsoring a corporate member from your staff, school or business, Kyneton Rotary warmly invites you to join their ranks. They are looking for new members who can carry on the tradition of service to the community in the caring, social and supportive way that defines Rotary.

For further details or to express your interest, reach out to Kyneton Rotary’s membership director, Peter Wilson, at 0409 866 668, or club secretary, Martin Monk, at 0419 562 581. You can also email them at rotarykyneton@gmail. com. Be a part of a legacy that continues to make a positive impact in the community.
