Conversations about life, death and dying

Vesna Pocuca of Robertson Hyetts will address the topic of making a will.

The monthly Good Grief Lounge returns to the Northern Arts Hotel in Castlemaine this Saturday.

This month’s special guests are lawyer Vesna Pocuca of Robertson Hyetts and arts therapist Marita Jacobsson.

Vesna will explain how to make a will and Marita of Thresholds Art Therapy will lead a poetry writing experience using pre-cut words, block out texts, short Japanese Haiku poems and listening to poems connected to grief, as an introduction to living with grief. Feel free to bring a poem to share.

The Good Grief Lounge is a safe, embracing place to talk about death and dying, to listen, learn and share with people who care in a relaxed environment with music, morning tea and a couple of talks.

Good Grief events founder and facilitator Jill Rivers is committed to healing through arts, culture and community and has written a book on the subject – The Arts Apothecary.

Jill says the the purpose of the events is to inform, reduce fear of end of life, to turn around denial and celebrate death as part of life.

“I am grateful to Vesna Pocuca for addressing the many people who have not yet made and will, and to Marita Jacobsson for lightening grief in our lives,” Jill said.

This free event is a follow-on from the Good Grief events at the 2025 Castlemaine Fringe Festival and is held monthly on the first Saturday of each month. Register your attendance at events.humanitix.com/good-grief-lounge

Detailed Advance Care Plan booklets will be available at the Lounges for $20.

The session will run from 11am-1pm you can find the Northern Arts Hotel at 359 Barker Street, Castlemaine.
