Trentham has been crowned the 2025 Victoria Top Tourism Town in the Tiny Tourism Town category.

Selected from a highly competitive field of outstanding towns, Trentham stood out for its charm, community spirit and visitor appeal.

Set on the edge of the Wombat State Forest, Trentham is known for its goldrush-era streetscape, boutique stores, welcoming country pubs, art galleries and top-notch food and wine experiences.

It’s entry described it as “a destination for those who love seasonal change”, pointing to its snow in winter, leaves of red and gold in autumn, and spectacular rhododendrons that bloom in spring and early summer.

Trentham was also described as “a destination full of natural beauty, from the spectacular Trentham Falls to the lush Domino Rail Trail”.

Hepburn Shire mayor, Cr Don Henderson, said the recognition was a celebration of Trentham’s vibrant community and unique offerings.

He thanked Steve Wroe and Daylesford Macedon Tourism for preparing the submission in collaboration with the council’s Economic Development team.

“The video beautifully captures the essence of our tiny treasure, Trentham,” he said.

“We would also like to thank the amazing local businesses featured in the video, helping to showcase exactly what makes the town so special. And of course, to everyone who voted and supported our campaign. We invite everyone to come and experience Trentham for yourselves.”

As the Victorian winner in the Tiny Tourism Town category, Trentham will now be considered for a national award.
