Integrating permaculture and landcare principles

Permaculture co-founder David Holmgren.

Newham and District Landcare Group is hosting what promises to be a fascinating illustrated talk on Friday September 12 at Newham Hall.

Permaculture’s co-founder David Holmgren will talk about his 12 permaculture principles and how they integrate into landcare’s aims on small to medium sized landholdings in the Macedon Ranges.

“David’s observations and practical experience over the 50 years since he and Bill Mollison founded what is now a world-wide movement will surely stimulate lively discussion,” organiser Bruce Hedge said.

“He lives in central Victoria, so is very familiar with our local conditions.”

David will discuss how permaculture can be integrated into landcare aims like biolinks, shelterbelts and weed control on a broader scale.

Admission is free. A light supper will be provided and wine by the glass for a donation will be available. The NDLG will be holding its (very short!) AGM at 7pm, followed by David’s address at about 7.15.

Arrive from 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Book at www.trybooking.com/DDZJC to assist with catering.
