Turning compassion into action

L to R: Ray, Fern, Christiana, Zoe, Rebecca and Russell.

Kyneton is once again showing the power of community, as it prepares to welcome a refugee family from overseas.

Friends of Refugees Kyneton is a dedicated volunteer group partnering with Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia to support this family as they begin a new chapter — one of safety, dignity and hope — right here in Australia.

These families have already been processed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Australian Government. They will arrive with permanent residency visas, ready to contribute and rebuild their lives.

FORK is there to ensure a soft landing. That means more than just help with transport, housing and essential services — it means friendship, connection and the support that truly makes a place feel like home.

Get Involved

Currently, FORK is run by a small team of six passionate volunteers — and they welcome anyone interested in joining them to get in touch.

Whether you can offer your time as a volunteer, goods to help set up a home or a financial contribution to help cover essentials, your support makes a real and lasting difference.

The group has set up a tax-deductible donation page if you’d like to contribute: shoutforgood.com/fundraisers/friends-of-refugees-kyneton
