A Trivia Night fundraiser launching Arts Newstead, the new organisation combining the talents of the Newstead creative community, will take place at the Newstead Community Centre this Friday October 23.
Newstead has long been known as a nurturing place for the arts, with visual art, music and writing among its many creative activities. It is a place where people can begin, reclaim or extend their creative practice, while also having opportunities to share their work, ideas and ongoing exploration with others.
Recognising the need to make Newstead’s arts activities more sustainable, four local arts organisations have been working together to find practical ways forward and Arts Newstead was born.
The special launch evening will feature hosts with the most – Adam Perrett and Kate MacDonald.
Tickets are $30 and $25 concession – booking information via the Arts Newstead Facebook page or at the door. Bring your friends and test your knowledge – there will be questions on art, sport, music, films and local knowledge, plus the games Ads and Macca are famous for – as well as raffles, nibbles and drinks will be available at bar prices. The event will get under way at 6.30pm.
