A live music concert at the Kyneton Racecourse is the latest fundraising effort by the Kyneton Football Netball Club.
Popular singer/songwriter Reece Mastin, who is now a familiar face around Kyneton, will head the lineup of live talent on October 14.
“I fell in love with Kyneton and its lovely people, can’t wait to come and bring the show down! Come on down for a brilliant arvo and hope to see heaps of familiar faces. Go tigers!” Mastin said.
Mastin’s good friend, Kyneton’s own Taylor Sheridan will join the 2011 X Factor winner for a one-off fundraiser for the Kyneton Tigers.
“I’ve always been proud to be a part of the Kyneton community, we help each other out when locals need it the most,” Sheridan said.
Other successful local artists performing include Honney, and Mat Dynon.
Kyneton Football Netball Club is raising funds in an effort to reduce its $200,000 debt.
Club president Karen O’Sullivan said that when Mastin’s manager, Kyneton local Ged Stokes, came to the club with the idea, the stars aligned with all the artists being available and the Kyneton Race Club kindly offering the venue.
Concert goers are urged to bring their friends, family, a rug or chair, and settle in for an afternoon of good music.
There’ll be jumping castles for the kids too as well as food on sale, and drinks at bar prices.
Picnic hampers are permitted, however no BYO alcohol will be allowed.
“We are very grateful to all those donating to our cause, including all of the talent lining up for the Funday Sunday Session,” Ms O’Sullivan said.
