Australian luxury skincare leader Rationale has broken ground on its global headquarters in Kyneton.
Last month, Rationale’s founder Richard Parker, CEO Shamini Rajarethnam and company representatives met with construction company Fairbrother’s general manager Michael Josey and team at the High Street site for the ceremonial breaking of ground.
The new global headquarters will see the Rationale research laboratory, production and manufacturing facilities, global distribution and logistics centre, education and training, and administration departments come together under one roof.
“Rationale HQ in Kyneton is a project of such magnitude and sophistication that it requires the most detailed planning, care and attention, involving the finest creators and builders to bring our vision to life,” Mr Parker said.
Plans for the $6 million facility were announced in 2018 for the vacant 14,000sqm site at the eastern gateway to Kyneton.
Mr Parker said Rationale HQ in Kyneton had been conceived as “a fusion and synergy of the organic and inorganic” by world-leading architect Robin Williams, engaging the talents of award-winning construction company Fairbrother, of MONA fame, and pre-eminent landscape designer Paul Bangay, overseen by Novatec Design.
He said construction was currently on track and would remain focused on foundation works for the next three months.
The new Rationale global headquarters is expected to open in October 2021.
