Castlemaine Idyll returns to Lot 19 in March to once again give aspiring stars their moment in the spotlight to shine. And performer registration is now open!
After a triumphant return last year due to the pandemic, Idyll is celebrating with musical treats to the theme ‘Chutzpah’.
The man behind the event Mark Anstey said Idyll was a competition like no other.
“Each contestant has our professional Castlemaine Idyll band backing them, and as always, a friendly crowd full of enthusiastic supporters. Performer places are in high demand each year,” Mr Anstey said.
“Spectators can expect to see gutsy performances, brilliant singing and plenty of legends in the making. And if the last few years are anything to go by, I think we can expect plenty of great costumes!
“Castlemaine Idyll is an uplifting, collaborative community event which brings joy and connection to a wide cross section of our community. And in 2022, we are planning further avenues for community participation.”
Mr Anstey said the event would be run according to COVID-safe guidelines, as it was in 2021. Ticket-holders will need to be double-vaxxed, as per government regulations.
“Safety of our community is paramount to the organisers of Castlemaine Idyll,” Mr Anstey said.
And as every year, there are a few simple rules: No BYO, no pets and no idiots.
“Returning again will be our famous judges, great food and well-stocked bar – we will keep your gang, whether it’s family or mates, entertained for hours,” Mr Anstey said.
Performer registration is now open for those interested in participating in 2022. Head to the Castlemaine Idyll Facebook page for registration details: www.facebook.com/castlemaineidyll
Lot 19 Art Space is a not-for-profit creative space and events venue committed to supporting local talent and the Mount Alexander community.
Performer registration closes on Thursday January 20. Tickets are on sale from Monday February 7 at www.events.humanitix.com/idyll2022
