Castlemaine Idyll returns to Lot 19 this Sunday to once again give aspiring stars their moment in the spotlight to shine.
Tickets are selling fast and the judges have been announced!

The three judges for Castlemaine Idyll 2022 are multi-talented singer and performer Aurora Kurth, writer and broadcaster Clementine Ford and Bridge Hotel publican Pat Furze.

The man behind the event, Lot 19 Art Precinct’s Mark Anstey said they were excited to be able to announce their team of three amazing judges for 2022.

“It’s a real joy and honour to have them contribute their time to our event,” Anstey said.

It has long been Pat Furze’s dream to take part in Castlemaine Idyll.

“With worker shortages now hitting the global B-list celebrity labour market, I was thrilled to get the call up to be an Idyll judge in 2022,” Furze said.

“Castlemaine Idyll is an uplifting, collaborative community event which brings joy and connection, and these judges are no exception,” Anstey added.

In 2022, Castlemaine Idyll is celebrating with musical treats to the theme of ‘Chutzpah’ – with contestants bravely giving it their all.

Castlemaine Idyll’s musical director Tara Flinn, of local singing group MaCapella Singers, said she loved the pre-performance conversations she was privy to with contestants.

“Whether it’s about the dream they are fulfilling or the nerves of taking to the stage for the first time, it’s a real privilege to be a part of it,” Flinn said.

“From those early conversations with contestants, to backstage, and then seeing them come alive on stage – nothing beats it. It’s pure joy for me,” she said.

Castlemaine Idyll takes place this Sunday March 20 from 12-6pm, at Lot 19 Art Space, 19 McShanag Drive Castlemaine.

Lot19 is a not-for-profit creative space and events venue committed to supporting local talent and the Mount Alexander community. Castlemaine Idyll is also supported by Mount Alexander Shire Council through their Event Grants program.
