Wise to crowdfund album

Lucy Wise's whimsical contemporary folk sound has won the hearts of audiences across Australia, NZ, the USA and the UK.

Malmsbury musician Lucy Wise has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support her fourth album.

Her whimsical contemporary folk sound has won the hearts of audiences across Australia, NZ, the USA and the UK.

She explores themes of love, the natural world, friendship and healing with disarming honesty, and accompanies her stunningly pure vocals with fingerpicked guitar, ukulele, and Appalachian dulcimer.

Lucy returned to the studio to record her new album after her sold-out concert at Malmsbury Town Hall in February.

The album will include Lucy’s recent single Broadbeans – a song about her move from Melbourne to Malmsbury, and describes searching for connection in a new place, missing friends and family in Melbourne, and shelling hundreds of broad beans.

“There are also songs about love, friendships, and the learning that can come from travelling through dark places,” Lucy said.

“These songs are very much about finding where the heart lives, and how coming through hard times can give us greater capacity for love and empathy. My hope is that this collection of songs is going to be helpful for people during this difficult time in the world.”

The album is being produced by Australian folk producer Luke Plumb.
