Gisborne nurse Andrea O’Meara has found herself in the hot seat.
She will be playing for a big cash prize on the Millionaire Hot Seat episode to air this Thursday, the Express can reveal.
Preparing for the show, Andrea knew exactly how she would spend the prizemoney if she won big or small.
Andrea eloped with her partner just before the pandemic hit and planned to have a small celebration with friends and family if she won a small cash prize.
She said a bigger win would help establish a business for her youngest son, 21, who has autism and has struggled to find employment.
“No one has really given him the chance he needs… Establishing his own business would really help boost his confidence and self-esteem,” she told the Express.
Andrea is no stranger to game shows, having previously appeared on both Sale of the Century and Deal or No Deal.
Her Hot Seat moment coincided with the show’s return to live audiences following pandemic restrictions.
However, she teased her husband was “too chicken” to join the fun despite host Eddie McGuire’s amiability.
“Eddie was good to talk to and has an ability to put you at ease,” she said.
“You just put yourself out there and have a go.”
Andrea will bring her knowledge of biology, science and literature to the Hot Seat episode that will air on Thursday, and it may just be the winning combination!
