Men flee scene of crash at Kyneton

A learner driver's car was crashed into in a hit and run collision at Kyneton this morning.

Police are searching for male offenders who left the scene of a collision in Kyneton this morning.


Two or three males were travelling in a white early model Nissan Pathfinder towing a trailer carrying a motorbike when they failed to give way while crossing from Powlett Street into Piper Street about 8am.


The offending vehicle collided with another car before being spun around to strike the verandah post of a shopfront, causing significant damage.


The Nissan left the scene heading towards Burton Avenue where the trailer and motorbike were abandoned. It drove off at speed heading southbound on the Calder Freeway.


Enquiries are ongoing into the occupants of the vehicle and whether it was stolen.


The driver of the other vehicle, an L-plater, assisted police at the scene.
