Castlemaine Toyota is celebrating the success of local AFL football talent Jack Ginnivan by making him a Castlemaine Toyota Dealership ambassador.
The 19-year-old visited the local dealership recently to take delivery of his new Castlemaine Toyota HiLux.
Castlemaine Toyota general manager Kyal Tripodi said the local dealership was proud to throw its support behind the up-and-coming young star.
“We have a few Magpie fans here so we may be a little biased!” Kyal laughed.
“But in light of Toyota’s involvement with the AFL we wanted to get behind Jack and assist him on his journey.
“We are really excited to be working with Jack now and into the future,” he said.
The young star was suitably rapt with his new ride.
“Jack was driving around in his mum’s old Mazda so he was pretty stoked,” Kyal said.
“Thanks to Kyal and the team for hooking me up with this bad boy. It’s just unbelievable,” the footballer said.
Ginnivan first pulled on the footy boots at age six in the local junior football competition and later played for Newstead in the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League, and then Strathfieldsaye Storm in the Bendigo Football Netball League helping his Storm side to a premiership in 2019.
He also represented the Bendigo Pioneers in the NAB league and was selected for Vic Country before he was drafted by Collingwood with their first pick (pick 13) of the 2020 Rookie Draft.
The local footballer kicked 11 goals over three matches in the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 2021 impressing selectors and getting the call up to play his AFL debut game with Collingwood in round 19 of the 2021 AFL season. He went on to kick six goals for the Magpies over the remaining five games.
The talented medium forward burst into the 2022 season with renewed focus and kicked an impressive five goals in the hallowed Anzac Day match against rival Essendon winning the Anzac Medal. He also picked up a Rising Star nomination for the best-on-ground performance.
Ginnivan has kicked 32 goals to date this season and revved up the competition with his hard at the ball brand of footy and showmanship.
He is clearly loving playing the game he loves on Australia’s best stage following in the footsteps of his childhood idol and fellow Castlemaine lad, Tigers superstar Dustin Martin.
