Firefighters were called to the scene of factory fire at Hardwicks Meatworks in Kyneton last Friday afternoon.
Incident controller Tristian Smith said the alarm was raised about 3pm after air conditioning units in the roof of a cool store area caught fire.
“CFA worked alongside Hardwicks management to return the facility to operation. A section of the facility will have to be repaired,” Mr Smith said.
About 100 staff were evacuated and no one was injured. There were no injuries to livestock.
Thirteen appliances attended from Kyneton, Lancefield, Woodend, Malmsbury, Carlsruhe and Tylden, assisted by a ladder platform from Fire Rescue Victoria.
Police, WorkSafe Victoria and Macedon Ranges Shire Council were also on scene.
The blaze was extinguished in about an hour.
