Lancefield Farmers Market this Saturday will mark its 16th anniversary.
While the Macedon Ranges has a farmers market somewhere on most Saturdays each month, Lancefield is the shire’s longest-running farmers market.
This weekend there will be 65 stalls to choose produce from. A list of the current market traders can be found on the market’s listing at www.vfma.org.au. As well there will be all the usual trimmings such as live music from Walkers Road and Sean Dixon, free facepaint for the kids from Pass-the-Parcel and tasty market fare to enjoy on the spot.
Highlights this month include
* Harper & Blohm with their cheese toasties made with local produce and their raclette cheese
* Thyme for Tea. Kerry blends homegrown and Australian sourced herbs to create special tea blends in her kitchen at Heathcote.
* Treetop Foods. Andrew has launched his new nutcheese, vegan almond parmesan.
* Pollards Orchards will be back at the market with their super crunchy new season’s apples from the Harcourt Valley.
* Mike the mussel man will be there with fresh mussels, seaweeds and hot seafood paella.
Also, a then and now photographic exhibition will be happening down the centre of the market and the shire council’s economic development team will be out and about to chat to.
The market will be on from 9am-1pm in the main street.
