POLICE SHOOT AT CAR NEAR ELPHINSTONE

Police were forced to shoot at an SUV being driven at officers yesterday afternoon.
Officers noticed the vehicle travelling at high speed along the Calder Freeway at Kyneton about 4pm and continued to track it until it stopped in Harmony Way, Elphinstone, to let out a female passenger.
Police attempted to intercept the car but it drove at the officers and they fired a number of shots.
The female was arrested at the scene as other units followed the SUV. It was intercepted on the Calder Highway at Kyneton. Three males were arrested and are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Professional Standards Command has been notified as per normal protocol when a police firearm is discharged. No one was hurt during the incident.
