MAN RESUSCITATED AFTER COLLAPSE AT GISBORNE

An elderly man collapsed outside the Gisborne SES headquarters in Robertson Street about 1.50pm this afternoon.
A bystander raised the alarm with the fire brigade next door who rushed to the scene to find the man unconscious and not breathing.
Bystanders were attempting CPR before police and firefighters took over with a defibrillator.
Gisborne Fire Brigade’s Lt Bevan Moody said they were able to get the man breathing again at about 2.30pm.
He was taken by road ambulance to Melbourne in a stable condition.
