A Romsey man is struggling to come to terms with the fact he’s now a millionaire after today discovering he won $1.2 million in TattsLotto more than a week ago. The Victorian held one of the five division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4185, drawn Saturday August 28. Each division one winning entry took home a $1,247,527.15 prize. This morning, an official from The Lott spoke to the overwhelmed man, who’d only recently discovered he was now a millionaire. “It’s absolutely unbelievable! You dream of this but never think it will happen to you.” he laughed. “I can’t believe it! I am a millionaire. What the hell! “I honestly had no idea until I checked the ticket today! It was a big shock, and my mind was running a mile a minute. “It’s so great to hear this. Thank you so much. “I haven’t won much in the past and never thought I’d win division one, so this really is fantastic news. “My wife is going to be over the moon when I break the news to her and let her know we’re millionaires! “She probably won’t believe me at first, but then I am sure she’ll want to have a glass of wine to celebrate and get busy planning. “This takes a huge load off my mind! It’s life-changing. It’s awesome!” When asked how he planned to enjoy his million-dollar win, the jolly winner said he wanted to be sensible with the majority of his prize. “Well, I can’t wait to get rid of the mortgage. That will definitely be the first priority,” he explained. “I would love to pay off the car as well! It will be lots of bills first, and then I will have some fun. “I am not sure what I’ll do with the rest of it, but I am sure my wife is going to have plenty of ideas.” The winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Romsey Supa IGA Newsagency & Lotto. Newsagency managers Craig Hendricksen and Belinda Cattlin said they were happily surprised to have sold a division one winning entry. “Wow! It’s incredible to have played a part in making someone’s dream come true,” Craig said. “We’ve decorated the outlet and have been telling all of our customers that we’ve sold a division one winning entry. “There have been a few division one wins here over the past decade, and we can’t wait to sell another.” “How great is it that a local customer has won?” Belinda continued. “Congratulations to our winner. We hope this win makes a positive difference to your life, and thanks for supporting our business. “We are just so stoked!” |
