Put Kyneton Farmers Market on your list of fun long weekend plans.
Autumn is a most loved season by home cooks in the Macedon Ranges. Take your time to wander through over 55 stalls of the freshest local produce, meats, handmade preserves, cheese, wine and gin.
Autumn celebrations mean free stuff too!
The music highlight of the day is daughter-dad duo Freya and Tom McGowan.
Freya is a student of Ballarat Centre for Music and the Arts. She has been performing with her dad since the age of six.
When she was a baby, Tom says she would only go to sleep listening to the music of Marianne Faithful!
Young musicians and singers will be inspired by Freya who is just turning 12. For a sneak preview @freyaandtommcgowanmusic and don’t miss Freya YouTubes by BCMA.
COLOUR AND FUN
Heaps of autumn colour and fun is to be found in the Makers Market Section too.
On the upper terrace of the market you will meet artists and makers who specialise in pottery, jewellery, art and handmade items.
New local artist Evie Dora has a special project she needs help with.
Inspired by autumn, Evie aims to complete an interactive painting with the help of shoppers by the close of the market at 1pm. You will find her in the Makers Market.
There will be a large piece of canvas for people of any age to add their own colour contribution to the canvas. Non-toxic paint will be used for everyone’s benefit.
Evie is a totally self-taught artist and hopes that even people scared of painting will give it a crack. Evie’s painting style is described as Expressionism with comic book touches.
Feelings are important to Evie and shine through in her pet portrait commission work of dogs and horses.
Her previous work called Resilience at Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne started her passion for the colour and feeling to be found in food markets. Instagram @evie.d.123
