Vereker in Sydney Super Night this weekend

Kyneton’s Brad Vereker made his Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes debut at Darwin last month and now looks to Round 3: Panasonic Sydney SuperNight this weekend.

The NSW round will be held July 19-21 and local residents can cheer Vereker on with races to be broadcast on FoxSports and Kayo.

“I’m really looking forward to my second round in the Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes after having a strong run at Darwin I feel I can hit the ground running with some experience under my belt,” he told the Express.

“Sydney is a great track, and there will be a big crowd there, so I’m really looking to get some strong results.”

Vereker has been a standout in Hyundai Excel racing in recent years, winning the Masters Champion title at the 2022 Nationals.

He said he had “an absolute blast” mixing with experienced drivers at Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series in Darwin last month.

“I can’t say how much I enjoyed being apart of the series and everyone involved,” he said.

“A massive thanks to Luke Sieders and the crew at Sieders Racing for looking after me and giving me a great car every time we hit the track.”

Vereker took the wheel of the #96 Mitsubishi Triton campaigned last year by Jaiden Maggs.

While he said the results “didn’t show the true potential that he thought was possible”, he said it was “part of the learning curve”.

“I really need to work on my starts as I had three shockers which really put me on the back foot,” he said.

“Every race I had to fight my way back through the field from last on track after either going onto grass to avoid an accident or getting spun twice while running in the top 10. I was top 5 fastest in every race so need to maximise the speed into results.”

His results for Darwin were: race one 13th, race two 12th, race three 14th, and race four 13th.

Vereker thanked his sponsors: VGroupBendigo, Vereker Bros Smash Repairs, Redline Car Hire, Boyers Excavations, Road Trains of Australia, First Scaff, Kyneton Plumbing and Building Supplies, Interior Projects By Vereker, Kuppers Contracting, Tyrepower Sunbury and Kyneton, Lavistone, Hex Fight Series, Prendergast Earthmoving, AGI Windows and Doors Pty Ltd, Jarrica Constructions, Raceline Motorsport Racewear, and Darwin Signs.
