Two caravans were destroyed by fire at a Gisborne property last Tuesday.
Gisborne Fire Brigade was paged to the scene on Braeside Road about 5am when they found the two caravans fully alight.
Firefighters acted quickly to contain the blaze and ensured it did spread beyond the initial area.
The caravans were a total loss. Crews remained on scene for just over an hour to fully extinguish hot spots and make the area safe.
It is believed the fire started from a lithium battery inside one of the caravans.
Lithium batteries can pose a fire risk if damaged, overcharged, or stored incorrectly. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and keep them in a safe, well-ventilated area.
