Two creative events this month aim to encourage people outdoors to appreciate art and performance in the Macedon Ranges.
An interactive puppet show will be held at various locations featuring accompanying musicians, which is bound to leave children and adults spellbound.
A mini street art festival showcasing interactive murals at different locations across the shire will also captivate local audiences.
Ana’s Big Adventure
Join little puppet ‘Ana’ as she travels from town to town in the Macedon Ranges discovering different animals, having adventures in nature and making friends along the way.
All stages of the show weave together as chapters, linking a story that travels between each of the locations.
Ana’s troupe of marionette puppets will be supported by musicians playing the violin and the harp providing an enchanting experience for the whole family.
The performances are free and offer a chance for kids and the young at heart to learn from professional puppeteers.
Children are encouraged to interact and play with the puppets after each performance.
Performance locations and times are as follows: May 14, 10am, Romsey Lions Park Children’s Playground; May 14, 2pm, Lancefield Reserve Children’s Playground; May 21, 10am, Riddells Creek Lions Park; and May 21, 2pm, Gisborne Adventure Playground.
Art in Public Spaces
Follow the mural trail though nine towns in the Macedon Ranges and discover a mini street art festival with a difference.
Six street artists and three local artists will adorn nine different walls around the shire with their original artwork.
Through the wonders of technology, each piece of artwork is animated and will come to life once its associated QR code is scanned resulting in an immersive and fun art experience for all.
