Back better than ever

Work by Jenny Chester.

Each September in conjunction with the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival, Kyneton Art Group holds its annual art exhibition showcasing a wonderful selection of work from the members.

Opening night is Friday September 9, commencing from 7.30pm in St Paul’s Anglican Church Hall, 26-28 Yaldwyn Street West, Kyneton. The exhibition will also be open to the public on Saturday September 10, 9.30am-4pm, and Sunday September 11, 10am-4pm.

Categories for framed entries include landscape, seascape and cityscape, floral and garden, fauna, portrait, figurative and other, still life and watercolour.

As well as the framed artwork, the exhibition will also include a mini exhibition of the group’s unframed works titled Frameless and Fabulous.

These works come in many mediums from unframed canvases in oil or acrylic to watercolour, pastel, pencil and mixed mediums on paper or board, that come with a professional mount board surround.

Buying a frameless work gives the buyer the opportunity to snap up a painting at a lower price, with the flexibility to frame themselves to suit their décor or hang unframed.

All artworks are for sale and entry is only a gold coin donation. If you are looking to buy beautiful, original art produced by local artists for your home, office or as a gift, make sure you visit the exhibition.

If you like to paint, draw or would like to ‘try and see’ while meeting like-minded people, the art group’s doors are always open to new members.

Kyneton Art Group meets each Tuesday in the Red Brick Hall, 23 Yaldwyn Street West, Kyneton, 10am-5pm.

Members work in various mediums of their choice; oils, acrylics, watercolour, pencil, ink and pastel. They also participate in gallery visits, plein air days and regular workshops to learn and improve their skills.
