Peter studied scientific glass blowing in the 1970s and set up his lampworking studio at home in 2018 when he retired after many years as a scientific instrument engineer and joined Hoppers Glass in 2021.

Hoppers Glass Studio and Gallery in Maldon is offering glassblowing workshops during the Melbourne Cup long weekend.


Hoppers Glass is a privately owned studio, founded in 2017, with the aim is to promote all aspects of glass art, including lampworking (glass blowing), stained glass, kiln work (fuse, cast and slump), cold working, glass mosaics and jewellery making.


Peter Henderson is the main instructor and demonstrator in glass lampworking at Hoppers Glass. Class cost is $50 per person, and include all materials and tools needed on the day. Lampworking courses at Hoppers Glass have a maximum of two students with one instructor. No previous experience is needed.


Open Melb Cup long weekend Saturday to Tuesday from 10am – 3pm, Saturday and Sunday from November 9 to December 1 from 10am – 3pm. Other days by appointment only.
