After a six-year break, The Melbournaires Harmony Chorus returns to perform at the Gisborne Uniting Church on June 22 at 2pm.
Formed in 1991, this all-male chorus ranks among the top choruses nationally, and in September 2023 won the Gold Medal at the Pan Pacific Convention in Auckland for best Chorus in the Seniors Category.
Within the larger chorus, there are several quartets singing four-part Barbershop harmony music, entertaining audiences with a repertoire of popular songs from musicals of the past and golden oldies.
Cost is $25 adults and $20 concession/student, and tickets are available at the door. Afternoon tea will be served following the concert.
Proceeds this year will go towards helping the families of farmers who are struggling with the current drought.
