The Castlemaine Farmers Market is happening again over the Melbourne Cup weekend featuring about 70 producers from the local region and beyond.

Held on the Western Reserve, shoppers are encouraged to pack their own bags, baskets and trolleys, grab a friend and/or their friendly pooch and take the morning to explore the large selection of producer stands on display. Nominated recently in the Mount Alexander Business Awards for 2025, the Castlemaine Farmers Market has celebrated and elevated the local producers of the region for the past 22 years in offering this vibrant space to the community.

Young growers are now encouraged to step up to the market by growing produce for the Young Growers Market happening in March 2026 (see full story, page 28).

The CFM offers locally roasted coffee, unique handcrafted beverages and lunch options with roots in traditions from across the globe with live music and seating, spaces for children to play.
