Six local artists are getting set to unveil a ‘cutting edge’ new exhibition, THE MOW SHOW, at Newstead’s RedShed Arts Workshop this Saturday November 7.
So what exactly is THE MOW SHOW? We’re talking grass art – creative mowing – crop circles without the aliens.
The artists are creating works in the grass surrounding the RedShed arts precinct and inside there will be drone shots of the works – thanks to local photographer Fred Farquar – and a public floral art display.
The MOW SHOW artists include some well known local arty folk – Simon Dubberd, Forest Keegel, Damian Callanan, Candy Stevens, Melissa Clark and Peter Sullivan.
And the show is curated by local creative and RedShed Arts stalwart Suzanne Donisthorpe.
“I love land art and then I thought how good it would be if ordinary people made their own land art when they mowed their grass. It doesn’t have to be just cut, it can be sculpted, and to give people that idea – THE MOW SHOW was born.”
THE MOW SHOW will be officially sprout up this Saturday at 2pm and runs over two weekends November 7 & 8 and 14 & 15 from 10-4pm.
Bring the kids, the dogs, a kite and a picnic and come and explore!
