There have been a few letters to the editor in recent weeks, people lamenting the lack of council funding for the Daffodil Festival. It may be a little disappointing the Daffodil Festival didn’t receive funding this year, but I wonder if these people would be prepared to go to the groups that did receive funding and tell them they shouldn’t have received it?
I also belong to groups in the shire that sometimes seek funding for projects. I know the council likes to look for events that are doing something new, not the same thing every year.
I also like going to events as part of the Daffodil Festival but it seems to be the same every year. Some events are well attended, some have very poor attendance. We live in a changing world. Maybe it’s time for the Daffodil Festival Committee to look at making a few changes.
