Issue runs deep

Francis Randall, year eight, Sacred Heart College Kyneton

The White Ribbon Foundation claims one in three women have experienced domestic violence on some level. Children and men can also be victims. It’s an issue that runs deep, as it not only affects the person getting hurt but those witnessing the violence and experiencing the suffering of the victim.
To make a difference I am making a booklet and writing this letter to help raise community awareness and hope to help at least one person. People can help by speaking about this subject, and increasing general awareness.
A big thing is encouraging victims to speak out about what is happening, and to ask for help, as it is often not easy to do. For anyone wanting more information or help you can visit whiteribbon.org.au, au.REACHOUT.com, 1800RESPECT, or contact the local police.
