Ken Maas, Castlemaine
The following is an open letter to Amnesty International Australia, seeking support for Julian Assange. Over the previous five months, Amnesty and I have exchanged four letters each; this is a copy of my sixth letter:
Dear E.
Thank you for your reply dated 26 March 2019 regarding Julian Assange.
Why does Amnesty “not currently have a statement or position on Julian Assange’s case”?
Examining doctor’s report that Embassy detention conditions are life threatening.
The UN has declared Assange must be allowed to leave immediately and given protection to do so, along with the right to compensation.
Democracy and indeed Amnesty rely on transparency and whistleblowers like Julian.
What is Amnesty’s remit?
