Bendigo FNL season update

All grades of BFNL football and netball competition are expected to return on August 7.

BFNL football and netball competition will not resume this weekend, July 31, with a season reboot for all grades set for round 16 on August 7.
Following the recent announcements by the Victorian Government regarding a slight easing of current COVID restrictions specific to community sport, and after extensive consultation with all affiliated clubs, the Bendigo Football Netball League has advised that all grades of BFNL football and netball competition are expected to return on August 7, which will recommence from round 16 as per the current 2021 amended fixture under the current Victorian guidelines for community sport.


All rounds that have now been missed due to the most recent Victorian lockdown (rounds 13, 14 and 15) will be abandoned with zero points awarded to each team for each abandoned match.
All remaining 2021 BFNL Home and Away season scheduled rounds and dates will remain as per most recently fixtured:
– Round 16 – August 7
– Round 17 – August 14
– Round 18 – August 21
– Round 11* – August 28 (*previously rescheduled round)


The 2021 BFNL season will remain as a regular ‘Final Five’ finals series for all grades of competition.
All scheduled 2021 BFNL Finals Series dates will remain as per most recently fixtured:
– Qualifying Finals – September 4
– Elimination Finals – September 5
– 2nd Semi Finals – September 11
– 1st Semi Finals – September 12
– Preliminary Finals – September 18
– Grand Finals – September 24 (Friday)


The BFNL will support clubs and participants to ensure they are now all adequately and physically prepared to return under the current outlined government restrictions for the second time this season, in anticipation that the last block of four regular season matches will be completed uninterrupted ahead of the 2021 BFNL Finals Series.
