Kyneton Basketball Association’s junior teams battled it out in their grand finals matches last week.
The U14 Boys Gold team had an exhilarating game against the Girton Stikers, neck and neck the whole way through and just got pipped in the last couple of minutes.
The KBA boys finished on top of the ladder in the regular season. They came together for the first time this season and should be extremely proud of their efforts in mixing it with the every strong Bendigo teams.
KBA’s U16 Girls Gold team did everyone proud. Eight out of the nine players are all in the under 14s age and have stretched themselves each week in playing against the best talent in Bendigo in division one. They finished third in the regular season and fought hard to make the grand final.
They came up against a polished Generals team that have been undefeated for the past 12 months and proved to be too strong on the night for the Kyneton girls.
The U16 Boys Gold team have finished Champions of division two, winning last against a gallant Aztec team. Another close first half, but the boys continued to lock down on their defence and executed their transition run in the second half to pull away and win by 10 points. Again, a team that has come together for the first time. They are a combination of bottom and top age players. KBA is super proud of them.
