350 games up

Norm Bickerdyke played his 350th pennant game for Woodend on Saturday.

Woodend Bowling Club’s Norm Bickerdyke played his 350th pennant game for the club on Saturday.

Bickerdyke, who is still playing as a skipper, was congratulated by Woodend team manager John Shaw at the mid-game division 2 break at Kilmore.

A one-club player, Bickerdyke began bowls at Woodend in 1999.

He has been club champion on four occasions.

Woodend won Saturday’s match, but the club has been disrupted with last week’s torrential rains and flooding ruining the synthetic green. Woodend is likely to seek alternative venues to cover the loss of the surface.
