Kyneton Football Netball Club female footballers are thrilled with their move to the Riddell District Football Netball League in 2023, allowing for more opportunities for the senior and youth girls program to grow.
The Tigers are committed to continually providing a fun, safe and welcoming environment to support growth and development in their female football program.
The youth girls program is once again being led by Kirsty Murray, who has continued her personal football development in the off season to guide the next AFLW stars through the club’s junior program and beyond.
Kirsty completed her Level 2 AFL Coaching course and was lucky enough to be mentored by Natalie Wood who has recently been appointed the head coach at Essendon AFLW.
The senior squad is headed by Phil Hawkes for his third year with the club, with the addition of assistant coaches, former VFLW player Belinda Hateley and former Kyneton Tigers Women’s foundational player Kylie Munro.
Both teams have been working hard on the off season, training twice a week at the Kyneton Showgrounds in preparation for the season ahead where they will face the likes of local neighbouring teams, Romsey, Woodend and Macedon to name a few.
The Tigers are continually on the hunt for new players to join their teams and are encouraging potential players to come and try football, whether they are experienced or are trying the game for the first time. All levels of fitness and experience are welcomed.
The Tigers are looking forward to playing in the RDFNL next season and are working hard to be a strong finals contender with preseason already under way every Monday and Wednesday at the Kyneton Showgrounds.
New, former and current players are all invited to attend sessions.
Training schedules:
Youth Girls – Monday and Wednesday 4.30pm – 5.45pm
Senior Women – Monday and Wednesday 6.30pm – 8pm
At the Kyneton Showgrounds.
