Rangers’ efforts pay off

Bathed in sunshine the U12s game had everything – goals, diving saves, tackles and even the occasional nutmeg!

The first of three home games for Macedon Rangers Soccer Club this week saw the U9 boys compete with their southern neighbours from Sunbury.

The boys continue to develop in both their teamwork and the skills.

Harry and Thomas alternated with the goalkeeping gloves, and their defensive line in front of them cleared countless attacks. Finn got a brace with two really well taken goals.

The second home match saw the U10 boys take on Keilor Wolves. End-to-end action all game, with Keilor peppering the goals.

Special mention to Cruz in goal, having taken on the goalkeeping duties he was enormous between the posts all game. William and Mason hit the scoresheet, with Mason scoring in only his second game for the club!

The late kickoff saw the U12s compete against Satellite City. Bathed in sunshine the game had everything – goals, diving saves, tackles and even the occasional nutmeg!

The first half in particular was their best showing all year, the work the boys are putting in to training is starting to pay off. Goals to Trentyn and Alexander, with Alexander scoring on his 30th match for the club.

Special mention to all club volunteers, David in particular pulling in a four-hour shift behind the barbecue to keep everyone fed and happy!

The U10 girls had to take a pack lunch and a compass to head down to Point Cook for the only away game. Well worth the trip, with the Ranger girls all dominating with plenty of time on the ball.

Two goals each to Madi and Elsie rounded off an excellent team display.

U12 girls had a week off with the bye.
