Castlemaine District Cricket Association A Grade sides began day one of the round six two-day fixture last Saturday. A Reserve played one-day matches in round five and B Grade contested one-day matches in round four.


The Women’s sides enjoyed a week’s rest and will return to the field this Friday evening. C Grade (Under 16) began day one of the round three two-day fixture.

Highlights of the round were Guildford A Grade batsman Patrick Nicholson’s 102 not out against Castlemaine United, while Mia Mia bowler Kris Barnett was the pick of the bowlers claiming 5-12 against Taradale.

Harcourt 10-151 (Daniel Chamberlain 39 not out, Tom Kelson 34; Nash Robinson 4-30, Darby Semmens 3-33) v Barkers Creek 2-70.


Castlemaine United v Guildford 8-223 (Patrick Nicholson 102 not out; Declan Brasher 4-16, Charlie Warren 3-40).


Maiden Gully Lions 10-104 (Tim Bubb 39; John Watson 4-20, David Envall 3-2) v Muckleford 2-43.


Newstead had the bye.

A RESERVE

Muckleford 7-109 (Callan Hough 26, Luke Kneebone 3-8) lost to Castlemaine United 1-114 (Adam Smolak 64 not out).


North Castlemaine 3-156 (Gavin James 74, Jamie Allan 45 not out) defeated Harcourt 9-153 (Jack Gibbs 35; Karsen Beer 3-22, Nicholas Ryan 3-31).


Taradale 6-153 (Brock Fletcher 39, Leigh Bennett 47 not out; Leigh Walker 2-23, Graeme Beith 2-25) lost to Campbells Creek Colts 6-154 (Thomas Bunting 67, Leigh Walker 31; Trinity Mawson 2-24).

Newstead 10-189 (Chris Elderfield 41, Faolan Gardner 38 not out, Ciaran Gardner 34; Benjamin Poulton 4-44, Nick Malavisi 3-36) accounted for Heathcote 6-91 (Daniel Butler 64, Tim Gleeson 46, Rhys Ashen 34; William Garsed 3-20, Keelan Gardner 2-35).

B GRADE

Mia Mia 8-176 (John O’Sullivan 74; Simon Marwood 3-34) defeated Taradale 10-108 (Fill-in 30; Kris Barnett 5-12).


Campbells Creek Colts 6-141 (Mark MacDougall 58, Patrick Jones; Michael Penrose 2-7) lost to Castlemaine United 4-142 (Mekaal Hassan 66 not out; Patrick Jones 2-31).


Barkers Creek 6-168 (Campbell McLennan 36, Jackson Byrne 36; Angus Mychajlyszyn 3-26) defeated Guildford 10-166 (Angus Mychajlyszyn 28).
