GKU dominates

Under very windy conditions at Roxburgh Park, GKU secured another impressive win against the Magpies.

Both teams were missing key players, but that didn’t stop it from being a hard-fought clash.

United kicked against the wind in the first quarter but still made a strong statement, slotting 5.3 to open the match. The momentum continued from there, with GKU adding four goals in each of the remaining quarters to finish with a commanding total of 17 goals for the game.

There were standout performances across the ground. Todorovic and Dickins combined well through the midfield and wings, linking up cleanly with the forwards. Down back, White and Mitchell were rock solid all day, making it increasingly difficult for Roxy to find a path to goal. The ruck duties were shared between Brancatisano, Logan, Hateley, and Herring — each playing their role and contributing to what was a strong, team-first performance from the ladder-leading GKU. There were plenty of goals between the forwards, with Williams, Farrell, Cowan and Crook all working well together.

GKU next takes on the Sunbury Lions on Saturday July 19 at Clarke Oval. First bounce at 11.50am.
