The second round of Highlands division one pennant bowls on Saturday resulted in two matches being decided on the final end.
Gisborne managed to scramble home at Lancefield by two shots, and Kilmore remained in second spot behind unbeaten Kyneton by defeating arch rival Broadford 56-55.
Romsey bounced back from a loss against Kyneton Golf by outclassing visitor Trentham by 60 shots.
Greg Taylor’s four won 39-12 for the biggest margin of the day.
Steve Pickles and co. had a good win for promoted Woodend, but Adrian Plowman’s wide margin ensured Kyneton Golf was never threatened.
In the remaining match, reigning premier Kyneton gained maximum points with an overall 30-shot margin over Diggers Rest.
While the Jeff Holmes rink won by five shots for Lancefield, Gisborne was pleased to have two rinks up for a breakthrough victory.

Second division teams made their debut, with the only close match being at Romsey, where the home side held off Gisborne by six shots.
Macedon had a big win over Diggers Rest, highlighted by the 39-6 victory by Gary Dickenson’s rink.
In division 3, Trentham broke through for a four-shot win at Lancefield. Other games had wide margins.
