McIntyre Cup 1sts cricket matches on Saturday produced a total of 786 runs and 19 wickets.
All scheduled matches began with high hopes of outcomes, but the weather forecast was not accurate, and rain arrived in various quantities.
Eventually it was obvious there was no way the one-day fixtures could be completed, and prolonged afternoon teas were provided.
So, points were shared, and clubs and players move on to this Saturday in anticipation of more favorable conditions.
The highest score in McIntyre Cup was Wallan’s 4/221 against Broadford.
Woodend reached 4/210 from 39.1 overs against Romsey before rain intervened.
All of Woodend’s top order got among the runs, with captain Marcus Stewart unbeaten on 46 — he has only been dismissed once this season!
Macedon reached 6/171 c.c. against Gisborne in the battle between two unbeaten sides, but the strong Gisborne batting lineup never got a chance to get to the crease.
